Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto series, announced that it is preparing for, what they believe will be, a record-breaking fiscal year 2025. The comments were made by CEO Strauss Zelnick in the company’s latest financial report.

“Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our company. For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success,” said Zelnick.

“In fiscal 2025, we expect to enter this new era by launching several groundbreaking titles that we believe will set new standards in our industry and enable us to achieve over $8 billion in net bookings and over $1 billion in adjusted unrestricted operating cash flow. We expect to sustain this momentum by delivering additional growth in our operating results in fiscal 2026 and beyond.”

When we take the obscene amount of money and overwhelming confidence into consideration, one could presume that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch in the fiscal year 2024. However, when asked whether the number guarantees the release window for GTA VI, Zelnick didn’t confirm anything but it seems highly unlikely for the “industry standard setting” revenue of $8 billion to be reached without some kind of major release. Even though the game is decade-old, Grand Theft Auto V is still immensely popular, and at the time of writing, it sits comfortably on the 180 million sales mark. Beyond impressive, really!
