Guild Wars 2 will be playable on Steam starting from November
The accounts won't transfer, though.
Guild Wars 2 may not be the top MMORPG at the moment, but it's still going strong, even 8 years after release. Along with an epic trailer for the 2021 expansion End of Dragons, ArenaNet also announced that Guild Wars 2 is finally coming to Steam as well. About time, I must say.
You'll be able to play the game via Steam starting from November, but unfortunately, current player accounts won't be accessible via Steam. The Steam version will have "the same maps and servers" and "everyone plays together" but you won't be able the transfer any accounts from one version to the other.
If you've never played Guild Wars 2 before, now is the perfect time to jump in, right before the new expansion drops. Maybe it's not WoW or FFXIV, but the game is fun as hell and it's worth checking out. Here's the trailer btw:
