About
Fox and Shadow is a scifi dual deckbuilding roguelike. Scavenge for resources in a broken city to maintain your crumbling bunker. Create a deck that contains your Pilot's emotions with your Drone's logic to destroy defective robots for parts.
The world is in ruins, salvage yourself.
Unite Reason and EmotionFor each journey into the city, you’ll choose a Drone and a Pilot, each with their own types of cards. These cards are used both for combat, but also dictate how you can resolve problems you’ll encounter deep within the technological ruins.
The Drones each come with a unique set of Command cards, a representation of the robot's innate functions. They form the base of how the drones fight off threats and present tools to solve problems.
Pilots each have different Trait cards, which represent their behaviors and emotions. As pilots explore and interact with the city, parts of their personality bubbles to the surface in the form of these cards. While in your deck they change how you can interact with other entities in the city.
By fusing Command and Trait cards, create new moves for battle. Control exactly how you want to navigate the hordes of robots that stand in your way. Will you mow them down? Or will you opt to outwit them?
Plot the Road Home
The city above Burrow 11 is teeming with robotic life to contend with, and even a few resources to help you stay in the green. Your search for parts will put you through a gauntlet of battles and encounters on a hex map. How you search the city is up to you!
Just be mindful of how long you spend scavenging in the city. The longer you take, the more unwanted attention you’ll gain. You’ll need to rely on your wits to decide whether you are ready to tackle the bosses, or if you're willing to go for broke and risk wiping out that extra bit of scrap.
Your Choices MatterThe decks that the drones are equipped with are for more than battle. These tools can be used in a diverse range of situations for utility, decision making, and to provide social behaviors for each Fox to draw from while interacting with others in the city. While due to the failing memory circuits of the denizens of the city, they may not always remember your choices. Just rest (un)easy and know that the game will remember what you’ve done.
