Fabio Fontes, the developer behind 2021’s Buck Up and Drive, Fabio Fontes, has shown off his work on the upcoming sequel. Things are still in early development but everything is shaping up nicely so far as it seems.
In case you’re unfamiliar with Buck Up and Drive, picture Out Run taken to its most extreme limits. It's not just a race against time; it's a wild spectacle of flipping out and executing absurd stunts that give the impression your car got entangled in the level geometry, leaving the physics in a state of confusion. Add to that some drifting and rail-grinding and you’re getting the typical fare you'd expect to see in a racing game.
Buck Up and Drive 2 promises to take things even further. While the idea of expanding on such an extreme experience seems implausible, Fábio Fontes has a solution: driving on walls. Imagine the Spider-Mobile from the 1970s Spider-Man comics, but less absurd. The sequel also introduces character customization, a feature that may seem a bit unexpected, but hey, I'm all for it.
Buck Up and Drive 2 is coming to PC at some point in the future. We’re yet to get a firm release date.
