World of Warcraft 10.2.5 Seeds of Renewal is coming out on January 16
Plenty of new stuff waiting in store.
In an official blog post, Blizzard confirmed that the next update for the current World of Warcraft expansion (Dragonflight) will launch on January 16. Titled Seeds of Renewal, the update is bringing a lot of new content to the game and it concludes the storyline campaign of the Dragon Isles.
One of the biggest changes is that Dragonriding, one of the core concepts of the expansion, will now be available in all old world zones where you can use utilize flying mounts (and that is…most of Azeroth).
On top of that, Seeds of Renewal will introduce a new system called the Azerothian Archives. We’ll get to delve into the rich history and lore of the Dragon Isles, while immersing ourselves in a pivotal era predating the current expansion. Weekly Public Events at the Traitor’s Rest will serve as a platform for this exploration, offering both solo and group activities. Engaging in these events will yield rewards such as Battle Pets, Mounts, and a special Transmog set.
All fans of Worgens and the resilient Gilneas' King, Genn Greymane will also rejoice as the Seeds of Renewal will take us back to Gilneas to help Genn reclaim his kingdom. This once-thriving realm had fallen into abandonment following Forsaken invasions and the catastrophic upheaval of the Cataclysm during the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm expansion. In this update, players will have the unique opportunity to join forces with King Greymane in the monumental task of recapturing Gilneas.
Last but not least, the Seeds of Renewal update introduces Follower Dungeons, a novel feature that enables players to recruit NPC companions for dungeon expeditions, providing an alternative to teaming up with other players. All eight Normal Dragonflight Dungeons will now dynamically scale and accommodate 1-4 AI players, with the promise of more dungeons in the pipeline for future updates.
