Based on the report, Knights of the Old Republic remake is not being worked on
Seems like the Embracer Group is not interested.
Back in 2021, it was revealed that Knights of the Old Republic would be getting an official remake, with plans to launch the game on PS5 and PC. Now, however, it seems like things are not shaping well for KOTOR’s highly anticipated return. At least according to the report.
Namely, a couple of days ago, Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb said that “this game is not being worked on right now.” “This game” obviously refers to the remake of Knights of the Old Republic. He then goes on to say that no studio is currently working on it. The whole talk begins around the 31-minute mark in the video below:
Grubb adds that fans may have already been picking up the pieces and it looks like Embracer Group is sitting on this long-awaited game but nothing official has been announced regarding the remake so do take everything with a grain of salt.
Such a shame really. Even today KOTOR is regarded as one of the best Star Wars video game adaptions of all time and it feels like Embracer missed out on a great opportunity to make a great profit on the remake now when game remakes and remasters are such a hot and trending topic.
Time will tell, maybe we do see the remake one day, though.
