Remedy Entertainment dropped a new update for Alan Wake 2 addressing some pesky progress-halting issues that players are having. That also includes one annoying problem that seemingly keeps coming back.
It’s not a small update, but it’s a welcome addition for anybody stuck due to a nasty bug. Last week’s update brought a staggering 200 improvements and fixes to the game, covering everything from lip-syncing to all-around polish. One issue that persisted, though, is the echo.
The previous patch attempted to fix an echo not aligning correctly Oceanview Hotel Lobby. It’s been a tricky problem to tackle and Remedy noted that while issuing an apology and stating it will be properly addressed in a new patch.
Here are the patch notes via Remedy:
Xbox Series
A workaround fix for the issue where the audio cut out intermittently in the Prologue. We are expecting a full fix for this issue in an upcoming update.
ROOM 665
Fixed an issue (again) with the Echo scene not aligning and unlocking correctly (this was fixed in the previous update, but Echo hell still persisted)
LOCAL GIRL
Fixed an issue with a mouse (with a big presence) blocking progress.
Let’s hope Remedy managed to solve this annoying Echo problem once and for all. Of course, we will know for sure when the update launches.
Alan Wake 2 is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
