IronOak Games and Curve Games have announced that a sequel to popular tabletop-inspired RPG adventure, For the King II, is coming to PC via Steam on November 2. Pre-orders are available right now with a 10% discount and some pre-purchase goodies for everyone chooses to do so.

“As a small studio of thirteen, we’re so proud of the work we’ve put into For The King II. We’ve worked hard developing new gameplay innovations, features and systems that have built on the successful For The King experience to make it even more enjoyable. We can’t wait for players and friends to party up and start their adventure on November 2nd!”

-Sterling Anderson, Studio Directors of Iron Oak Games

For the King II expands upon the successful foundation of the original game. It seamlessly merges strategic gameplay, JRPG-inspired turn-based combat, and roguelite elements that create a tabletop-like adventure experience. Players can now also join forces in co-op mode with up to four players, an upgrade from the previous limit of three.

Judging by the trailer, it appears that For the King II is a faithful continuation of the series, which, in my view, is a positive development. Personally, I've invested numerous hours into the original game. When playing with friends, it can be a highly enjoyable experience. However, it's worth acknowledging that, like many roguelite games, it can be somewhat frustrating at times when unfavorable RNG leads to an unexpected end to your adventure. Yet, such is the nature of the roguelite genre, I suppose.
