Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble 3 is coming to modern consoles

ININ have announced that they are bringing Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble 3 to PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles this year.

The game is a direct follow-up to Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands: The Story of Bubble Bobble 2. While these two games were first released on the arcade and then ported to consoles, Parasol Stars went straight to consoles. While North America only saw the Turbografx-16 version, the other parts of the world got the NES, Game Boy, Amiga, and Atari ST releases as well.

In any case, we will once again see brothers Bub and Bob in the lead role, and this time, they’re equipped with magical umbrellas and they can travel from one planet to the next, saving them from the clutches of evil. Quite an unusual story, yes, but a cool one also.

At this point, we don’t know if NES and Game Boy ports will be included, but both the press release and the trailer tease that something more could be on the way. We will see what these folks have in store for us.

Parasol Stars: The Story of Bubble Bobble 3 is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch near the end of 2023.
