Crate Entertainment have revealed what they have in store for their August update of their Early Access survival city-builder, Farthest Frontier. The biggest highlight is a brand new religion system, but we’ve also promised guild halls and the paper industry.
The game can be described as a “survival city builder” and a “colony sim”. Following the success of 2014’s Banished, it appears that a lot of developers got tired of waiting for a sequel to come out and decided to make their own games in this subgenre…with their own twists. You have to focus on the survival of your settlers, but on top of that, the concept takes a rather interesting turn along the way.
The game is a perfect introduction to introduction of the paper industry since you’ll be able to create books, a luxury item for your settlers. At the same time, guild halls will help you boost a chosen industry in your settlement, allowing you to choose your focus. Crate Entertainment also promises tweaks to combat, quality of life, mods, and even the addition of new livestock.
Farthest Frontier is available on PC right now via Early Access. The update is coming out at some point in August.
