Metacritic published their “best of 2023 so far” list
Tears of the Kingdom is literally killing it.
Metacritic have released their top 20 games of 2023 so far list (which covers the games released between January and June) and the outcome is somewhat expected but still staggering nonetheless. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is, of course, the leader of the pack with a 96/100 combined critic Metascore and is closely followed by Metroid Prime Remastered at 94/100.
We also have a very solid performance of PS5 releases and even some smaller indie games found their way into the top 20, which is so cool to see

Nintendo is absolutely dominating this list but kudos to Sony as well because they managed to establish a solid multiplatform dominance. The recently-launched PS5 exclusive, Final Fantasy XVI is doing quite well too, sitting comfortably at place #6 with an impressive 88/100 rating.
We have some very nice indie gems making the list as well and Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo is one such example. In any case, we can never get enough good games!
