Sonic the Hedgehog’s official Twitter page has announced that Sonic’s YouTube and Twitch channels will host a new Sonic Central on June 23. This live showcase is something similar to Nintendo Direct and it will show off some of Sonic’s “upcoming projects, partnerships, and events” that will take place this year.
Even though we don’t have any details about a potential new main entry in the franchise, we do know that Sega has some treats waiting in store. Nintendo have announced that Sonic is coming back in Sonic Superstars this Fall.
Sonic Superstars is a brand new 2D game that looks very similar to the iconic Genesis classics that made our blue blur a household name. It will feature modern graphics and we’ll get to play as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. Four-player co-op mode will be included as well!
If that’s not enough, this Friday will also see the launch of Sonic Origins Plus. Origins Plus includes all four classic Sonic games in HD along with 12 Sonic games from the Game Gear. The new bundle also includes new features like new challenges, modes, a playable Amy, and even her super form.
Make sure you tune in to Sonic’s Twitch or Youtube channels this Friday, June 23, at 8 am PST or 11 am EST to learn more.
