Valve have announced that their popular retail platform, Steam, accomplished a major milestone this week, surpassing 10 million concurrent in-game players for the first time in the platform’s (near) 20-year history.

The incredible number was achieved on Saturday, January 7, with a total peak of 10 082 055 Steam users in-game. We’re not talking about people who just logged in to chill, but people who were actively playing some of the hundreds of thousands of titles in the Steam library. On Sunday, January 8, the figure was further surpassed, with a player peak count of 10 284 568 players. Other than breaking the active player record, Steam also beat out their current record for overall concurrent users with a weekend high of 33 078 963 players

Without a doubt, this is now a record to beat. Well done Valve, I wish you even bigger success in 2023 and onwards as well.
