Sonic Frontiers is getting new playable characters, story, and more next year
We haven’t seen the last of Frontiers.
Sega have outlined the 2023 content roadmap for Sonic Frontiers and we’re happy to report that the game will be updated with new challenges, playable characters, a photo mode, and more next year.
Based on what we can see on the Sonic social accounts, Sega is planning three huge (and free) updates for 2023 for Sonic Frontiers but the content and names of said content are all subject to change.
Update 1 introduces a jukebox for all the amazing tunes that the game has and a photo mode that will allow you to take some sweet selfies. This update will also add new challenge modes to tackle and they may include the golden Super Sonic.
Update 2 comes just in time for Sonic’s birthday. It will add a new Koco as well as an Open Zone Challenge, so one can expect quite a birthday party.
Lastly, Update 3 will bring some real Heavy Hitters. We’ll be seeing more playable characters being added to the game as well as a new story to keep us occupied. Meanwhile, we’ve already had a teaser of the Frontiers villain as well as portraits for Amy, Knuckles, and Tails. This suggests that the entire Sonic crew will be playable in one way or another, but we should certainly learn more when the time comes next year.
Sonic Frontiers is now available on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
