Valve have announced that they will be bringing both Portal games to Nintendo Switch as a part of Portal: Companion Collection. The bundle is scheduled for launch this year.
You take control of a character named Chell. You wake up in the mysterious Aperture Laboratories with only your portal gun at your disposal. If we don’t count the frightening voice of the robotic AI supercomputer named GLaDOS, that is. You’ll be going through a number of ‘test chamber’ puzzles where you will have to use portals to solve different puzzles and progress through the game.
The sequel is no different in terms of plot - You will play as Chell once more, and this time, you will be navigating bigger and even more complex labs. This time, Chell and GLaDOS will also meet a new AI named Wheatley (he is voiced by Stephen Merchant). Like a true successor to the original game, Portal introduces more traps, even more dark humor, and plenty of surprising twists in terms of gameplay and, well, the story. Multiplayer is now also available and it features local, split-screen, and online options.
This will be the first time ever that a Valve game has appeared on a Nintendo console before, which is a feat worth celebrating.
The Portal: Companion Collection is coming out at some point in 2022 on Nintendo Switch. You can check out the trailer below:
