Microsoft have officially announced that Windows 11 will start rolling out officially to eligible PCs starting from October 5.
The latest version of the PC operating system will be first available as a free upgrade for all PCs with Windows 10 pre-installed. As it is written on the official Windows blog, there are several features that Microsoft intends to help meet the claim that Windows 11 will be the “best Windows ever for gaming”. Some of these features include DirectX12 Ultimate, DirectStorage, and Auto HDR. We have a brand new Microsoft store with a new design that includes Android apps (for the very first time). Other changes include redesigned Start menu, Snap Layouts, Snap Groups, Desktops, and a personalized Widgets feed. On top of that, we also have full integration with Xbox Game Pass for PC.
The rollout will be phased and the focus will be based on quality. That basically means the newer devices will be offered the upgrade first and then the older machines will follow. Make sure you check out if your PC is ready to upgrade by checking Windows Update.
