Rare have announced that Sea of Thieves' Season One will kick off this Thursday in a tweet posted via the game's official account.
The game is moving to a new seasonal update system, and the seasons will now last for three months on average. We are also getting a new progression system, with pirates getting 100 levels of Pirate Renown to earn ranks and achievements. And if that's not enough, you can always purchase a premium tier.
The first season will focus on a new set of challenges for the Merchant Alliance, and you will take the role of a detective who is trying to figure locate a lost shipwreck at the sea. An intriguing premise for sure.
The Season will kick off on Thursday, January 28 in Sea of Thieves on Xbox One, Xbox Series S'X, and PC.
