New PC shooter from EA and Digital Illusions

Digital Illusions have signed a contract to develop a PC game for Electronic Arts. The game, which is in the shooter genre, is not yet named but is scheduled for a spring 2006 release and is based on a Digital Illusions brand.

What this means is that the game is likely to be either an expansion to their successful Battlefield 2 game or quite possibly a sequel, whether this is true cannot be confirmed yet as both DICE and EA are keepting quiet about it. The game will be developed by the Company's Canadian studio and "is expected to generate royalty incomes to the Company during 2006" according to DICE CEO, Patrick Söderlund.
