World of Warcraft nears 2m subscriber mark
Almost 2 million paying subscribers in the game, with more expected now it has launched in China.
Blizzard Entertainment have announced that World of Warcraft has almost surpassed two million paying subscribers. World of Warcraft is the largest MMO in North America and Europe and with the recent launch in China Blizzard expects the game to grow even further and to smash the 2 million subscriber milestone in the coming weeks.
"Even as World of Warcraft debuts in new markets, Blizzard continues to develop new content to keep the game relevant and exciting for current and incoming players. The recent deployment of Battlegrounds illustrates Blizzard's commitment to enhancing the World of Warcraft experience for all its players worldwide. Additional Battlegrounds and more content updates are scheduled throughout the year and beyond."

World of Warcraft will launch in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau later in the year.
