Creepy Jar, the studio behind the open-world survival game Green Hell, formally unveiled their upcoming project -  a sci-fi base-building experience titled StarRupture. This game was briefly hinted at earlier in the year during the PC Gaming Show, under the codename Chimera.

We are tasked with constructing and fortifying our base on an extraterrestrial world trapped in a relentless cycle of devastation caused by the proximity of a neighboring star.

The plot focuses on a convicted individual banished from Earth, and as players, we embark on a mission to mine resources, enhance industrial production, and conduct technological research on a new planet characterized by a hospitable yet perilous environment. While constructing our base, we’ll get to incorporate intricate machinery while fighting against hordes of hostile monsters at the same time. StarRupture offers the flexibility of solo play or co-op engagement, with up to four players in total.

“We wanted to come up with a new title that more accurately described the dangerous sci-fi world we’re creating. We had to break away from the mythology-based roots of Chimera and we landed on StarRupture. Originating from the base word ‘rupture’—as in a break or a disturbance—the new name also closely ties to the name of the planet’s star which is aptly named, Ruptura.

We have no release date for StarRupture just yet but we do expect more information in the coming devlogs as development progresses.
