Gamescom 2023 saw Blizzard revealing Season 2 for Diablo 4: Season of Blood. The next season will kick off on October 17, roughly three months after Season of the Malignant.  Season 1 was quite lackluster, to say the least, but one can hope Season of Blood will introduce more entertaining content, particularly in the context of end-game mashing.

The initial announcement trailer didn’t reveal too much, but it did show off a brand new protagonist named Erys. Portrayed by the talented actress and producer Gemma Chan, Erys takes the lead in combating a novel and formidable threat within Sanctuary. The trailer hints at this emerging menace, characterized as bloodthirsty vampire-like creatures boasting exceedingly sharp fangs.

At the end of the trailer we also have a sneak peek into the forthcoming additions coming in the new season. We ‘re getting new vampiric powers, new questline, and a total of five new endgame bosses.  Last but not least, it seems like we’ll also see some updates to renown rewards, gem, and stash storage, as well as resistances and status effects.

The whole concept sure looks promising on paper, can’t wait to see what the reality will be like.

Diablo 4 Season 2, Season of Blood will launch on all platforms on October 17.
