Nintendo have revealed that the main stars of Pikmin 4 will be…drum roll…players themselves. In the previous games in the series, you had to play as one or more pre-defined explorers, but this time you will get to make your own custom explorer.
The trailer that we’ve got along with the announcement also shows off a bit of the story. Based on what we can see, Captain Olimar has once again crashed on planet PNF-404. A rescue expedition gets off to rescue him but they end up crashing as well. And now it’s up to you, fellow players, to save the day.
This is arguably one of Nintendo’s most anticipated titles at this point. It was announced back when Wii U was still a thing and I really can’t wait to lay my hands on this game. Just two weeks left (roughly).
Pikmin 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 21, 2023.
