Universal have announced that their billion-dollar gaming blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be up for grabs in the U.S. via the company’s streaming service, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment starting today. The price is set at $29.99 and rentals will be available as well.


The Super Mario Bros. Movie premiered in theatres on April 5 this year and it was a massive success, surpassing $1 billion box office and becoming the most successful cinematic release of the year thus far.


The plot sees our favorite plumber and his taking off against nefarious Bowser and his vile Koopa army. The movie got mixed reviews from the critics but that wasn’t the case for the audience. The enormous success that the movie achieved ensured that the collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination will continue in the future as well. Who knows, we may even get a sequel. Oh yes, please make it happen, folks!
