Many Hearthstone fans (who also happen to be console owners) were hoping to see their favorite card game on consoles in the near future as well but, as Blizzard officially confirmed, that's not happening. Or, well, at least not at this point. So, everyone who was hoping to see Hearthstone on Xbox One, PS4 and even Nintendo Switch is out of luck.

Ben Brode and Yong Woo spoke to DualShockers and they revealed some of their plans for the future. They also touched upon the subject of this year's "Year of the Raven" season and all the goodies that it brings us. The question about whether we should expect to see Hearthstone on consoles was asked very directly and the answer was just as direct as well - no.

To be honest, it's not surprising really. Although Diablo III: The Reaper of Souls and (especially) Overwatch are huge successes on both PS4 and Xbox One, Hearthstone prints money even without consoles. And, due to the nature of the collectible card games, they are much easier to pick up and play on a mobile device and/or a PC which is why this format suits it perfectly. Blizzard's vision has absolute sense from a business point of view, no doubt about that.

Even though this appears to be the definitive answer of Blizzard, we should all know that, if the interest is high, they sometimes do change their opinion and they do go over some things that would also be dismissed in the past. Think of the classic servers for World of Warcraft, for example. Now, whether that will be the same for Hearthstone, it remains to be seen.
