Microsoft seems to be on fire this season as multiple games start rolling up on their release dates for the 2016 holiday season. One of those games, among the many coming out, is a new game called ReCore, which is said to be a blend of Mega Man and Metroid, which is not surprising as members of both games were on the project. Still, while the game is definitely much awaited, there are a lot of people out there that are very skeptical about how the game will really play out. The game is being created by Armature Games and Comcept, and for those who dont know, Comcept does not have a very consistent approval rating. I mean how confident can consumers be when Keiki Inafune has to come out for your last game and say "it is better than nothing"? Despite the studios past failings ReCore does look pretty fun to play, so maybe this will be the one they got right after all.

Playing as a woman named Joule, whose name is oddly appropriate for the game, you have to travel across a sand-stricken land with multiple robot companions that are fueled by "cores." From what we know so far while playing as Joule your mission is to try and bring humanity back to the world, while also fighting against a robot faction that is trying to do the opposite. Little more is known about the games story, but it was revealed that sandstorms will actually alter the map and world making it an ever-changing environment.

When it comes to the graphics and the gameplay there are people that hate it and people that think they will love it.

Firstly, when it comes to gameplay, the shooting is based on a lock-on concept so you can't just free run and gun. Also, while in combat you have to be able to change different ammunition styles and control your robotic friends, all of whom have different abilities and will help in different scenarios. You can also jump, boost, hover, and move around the map to help get away from enemies and plan out your strategy. A lot of people who have played the demo argue that the game is very stiff and your characters movements are not fluid, and whole we would be inclined to agree, that does not mean the game is bad. From what we have seen the game will more than likely be a good one if the storyline really drives it home, otherwise the gameplay will get repetitive and boring very quickly. Plus we never know what the final version will play like.

Secondly, we should talk about the graphics. A lot of people don't seem to be happy with how the graphics look in this game, but I would argue that it looks pretty typical of a game from Comcept. No, you're not going to get smooth slick graphics that look like you're standing in the real world like in Uncharted or The Witcher III, but that does not mean that the game will be bad.The graphics kind of take us back to a day when it was less like controlling a movie on your TV and more like when it was playing a video game plain and simple. Still, we have not seen much of the world we will eventually explore so we can't speak on that, and we hope that the creators really did a good job, because that could make or break the whole thing.

Will the game be a good one? Man we sure hope so, because right now it looks like it is going to be, at least better than Mighty No. 9. From this author's perspective, I think the game will be good as long as the storyline is strong and really pulls the player forward, and if the world itself is designed well and operates like the creators say it will. Hopefully this will be the game to redeem Comcept, but who knows. What do you guys think? Will it be any good? Let us know below and look for ReCore to come out September 13, so not far away at all now!
