PS Vita Western Release Dates

Sony have revealed the pricing and release date for its next handheld console, the Playstation Vita

Sony have announced that the release date for the PlayStation Vita will be on 22nd February, 2012. The release date covers Europe, United States, Canada, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Australasia.

The pricing is as follows: $249, €249.99, £229.99, AUD $349.95, NZD $449.95 for the Wi-Fi model and $299, €299.99, £279.99, AUD $449.95, NZD $549.95 for the 3G/Wi-Fi model.

"Our first-party studios and army of publishing partners have been extremely hard at work to ensure that PS Vita launches with a vast library of titles that deliver unique gameplay experiences that go beyond any handheld or mobile device on the market." said US boss Jack Tretton.

More than 100 games are currently in development for the system, including Sound Shapes, Resistance: Burning Skies, Uncharted Golden Abyss, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Assassin's Creed, FIFA and Call of Duty.
